Calligraphy

The calligraphy featured on our site is the original art of Fr. Franklin Fong, OFM, pastor of St. Boniface Parish in San Francisco.  For Fr. Franklin, calligraphy is a form of loving & meditative prayer. Hear Fr. Franklin preach on God's amazing love for us in the parable of the Prodigal Son.

Franciscan Studies on the Internet

With the expertise & foresight of Fr. John Abela OFM, in 1995 the Franciscan Province of Malta was among the first to create a Franciscan presence on the Internet. This site's Designer & Webmaster was privileged to be in Fr. John's first online course in 1996. 

Frescoes of the Basilica of St. Francis

The art featured on our site page headers are details from the frescoes from the Basilica of St. Francis in Assisi and primarily by Giotto di Bondone, a Secular Franciscan whose 'Nativity' was featured on Pope Francis's 2016 Christmas card.  Visit the Web Gallery of Art to see more.

​Laura Chun, OFS, is the fraternity website coordinator and a former Minister of the San Luis Rey Secular Franciscan Fraternity. Laura on the St. Francis Regional Executive Council serving Secular Franciscans of Southern California. She is also a chaplain with the Diocese of San Diego, providing pastoral care to the incarcerated.
